How to glow a LED by using Aloe vera

Now a days electricity is a basic need for human kind. Many villages are dark at nights even technology  is developed. So, the guys from polytechnic discovered, how to glow a LED from alovera. So, let's see how to glow a LED.

Aloe vera

Requirements :

1.  Aloe vera
2. Copper rods
3. Zinc rods
4. Multimeter
5. LED
6. Connecting wires
7. Shouldering rods

Circuit designing:

To glow the LED from aloe vera, first take 9-15 pieces of aloe vera and they are connected with copper and zinc rods in series connection. Instead of using copper and zinc rods we can also use needles. Just to know winch one is anode and cathode we are using zinc and copper rods connect a multimeter in parallel connection across the load terminals as shown in the figure and then connect an LED across the multimeter.

Working :

As we know that, most of the electricity is generating from water. This aloe vera contains 99.7% of water and 0.3% of gel. In this 99.7% of water containing magnesium and calcium etc., are present, due to the presence of zinc and copper rod  the chemical reaction takes place and small amount of voltage regenerated from aloe vera and passed through the connecting wire which is sufficient to glow the LED. We can measure how much of voltage is generating from aloe vera.

*From one piece of aloe vera the voltage Will be generated upto (0.6-0.8)v*

Aloe vera pieces

Precautions :

1. Aloe vera pieces should be approximately in same size

2. The copper rod should not extended more than two inches and the zinc rod should be less than copper rod.

3. Connections should be firm

Advantages:

1. It is an eco-friends mini projects.

2. There is no wastage

3. Initial and maintance cost are low

Disadvantage :

The output may not be accurate if the connections are not properly connected.
